Revision Woes

My editor has become insanely popular.

Maybe I waited too long to snatch up my editorial dates because she can't edit my book till mid-May.

That got me thinking that maybe I should've gone ahead and edited my last book instead of throw in the towel and start over with new characters.

But that's probably just my reactive mind talking a bunch of smack.

It likes to say things like, "Start over, this one's no good." or "How did you ever get started writing anyway? You could be singing at Carnegie Hall," or "I wonder if my old friend Kevin Helmo is on Facebook?"

You get the picture.

So the plan is to enjoy this current revision, finish early and then move on to the next story.

And the BIG goal is to have fun doing it.

In other news, our new kitty, Penny Bo Benny, came to live with us in winter.

Now I know you think winter in California is really not winter.

But to her it's cold. I'd often find her huddled next to heater vents or snuggling on Surfer Boy's chest.

So off to Amazon went I and purchased a "microwavable pet warming pad."

Was it a success?

Well, yes and no.

Yes, because she loves it, no because she's gotten lethargic!

Now all she wants to do is lie curled up on top of what we've affectionately nicknamed "The Incubator."

Maybe that's a metaphor for life: If you get too warm and cozy you won't want to move.
