Grammarly. Yee-Friggin-Haw!
Grammarly is an editing program.
If you're not familiar with it, here's how it works.
You upload your document to the app and it goes through and basically gets the red pen out and slashes your work to ribbons.
So you can then tidy it up.
Yesterday I began the process of running my WIP through Grammarly which means that it's almost ready to head over to my lovely editor in Texas for copyediting.
Yee-friggin-haw!
The super fun thing about this part of the process is that I'm getting closer to the finish line.
Today I looked at my story from a creator's POV and I have to tell you I was amazed an amused.
It starts out as an idea.
I think about the characters.
Where do they live? What motivates them? Why don't they think they're ready to fall in love?
And a TON of other questions.
Then comes the outline, the first draft, the revision, the beta readers, the next revision, (and maybe more revision) GRAMMARLY (Can I get a yay?), copyedit, proofread, formatting, and finally, publication.
As a creator, it always amazes me how something that wasn't here yesterday is here today.
Living, breathing characters with a story to tell.
And to answer your question, yes, this blog goes through Grammarly.
And with that, I'm heading out to dinner tonight.
