What I’m Watching

In between Swiffering my floors, riding my bike, going to yoga class and surfing--oh yeah and this little thing I'm doing called Revision ...

Surfer Boy and I like to watch documentaries.

Yesterday we watched a movie called The World Before Your Feet.

For over six years, Matt Green has been walking every single street in New York City.

Can you believe it's over 8,000 miles? Who knew?

What I loved about this inspiring documentary was the detail that Matt notices.

For example: Did you know that there are almost 150 (that he's found) hair cutting salons that use a "Z" in their title ala: Cutz Family Hair Salon, Cutz and Stylez, Cutz New York, Cutz by Maryann, Upper Cutz and my personal favorite, Cutz & Shavez.

Wow.

It struck me that we all live in fascinating places.

Why don't we pay attention?

I was so inspired that I called my daughter's fiance who loves our community and loves a good challenge.

"I can see it now," I said. "My daughter's fiance walks every single street in our beach town."

He became ultra excited and told me, "I'm gonna do it! You come up with the best ideas."

Well, it wasn't really my idea but I'll take it.

If you like documentaries, check it out.

Who knows, maybe you and I will take up the challenge in our town.
