Forever Motown
Today Surfer Boy and I took the afternoon off to go to the Laguna Playhouse and see a live performance called Forever Motown.
It was phenomenal!
We got out of our seats and boogied to My Girl, Heard It Through The Grapevine, and Ain't No Mountain High Enough.
The funny part about it (and there's always a funny part to everything in my world) was the fact that this was a 2pm showing and the theatre was filled to the gills with a bunch of retired folk.
And yes ... that includes me.
As we sat in our seats waiting for the show to start I glanced around and noticed that many and I do mean many of the senior citizens wielded iPhones.
Arthritic, gnarled up fingers swiped through Facebook, deleted emails and the woman in front of me shopped for (supportive) shoes, then went on to research recipes--this latter part evident by the mouth-watering photos of prime rib and corn on the cob.
Okay, so we're retired. Kinda.
Surfer Boy and I were just discussing the fact that we're busier some days now than when we worked full time.
If this is Thursday, this must be Motown.
See ya maƱana!
